Cleanings and Exams
These appointments should be scheduled every 6 months. We recommend that your child’s first dental cleaning and exam should be done at 1 year of age or as soon as their first teeth come in.
As part of our cleaning and exam appointments, your child will receive:
- Age appropriate teeth and gum cleanings with our dental hygienist
- Oral exam with Dr. Sheffield
- X-rays and other screening services
- Brief lessons on teeth brushing, flossing, and other daily habits
Restorative Care
Restoring the health of teeth at any age is extremely important to your child’s overall well-being. Although baby teeth will be lost and replaced with adult teeth at some point, repairing damage at any age ensures your child can continue to eat, speak, and thrive without pain or discomfort. Restoring the health of baby teeth also helps their adult teeth develop and emerge as strong as possible.
Our restorative care services include:
- Composite fillings
- Stainless steel crowns
- Extractions
We offer nitrous oxide as appropriate to help ease the stress and discomfort that can be a part of restorative services. We want to restore healthy and HAPPY smiles!
Preventative Care
Maintaining regular appointments gives our expert team ample time to identify potential issues and provide preventative solutions. Preventative care is generally less invasive and expensive than restorative care and is the key to maintaining lifelong dental health.
Common preventative care services include:
- Sealants
- Closing spaces
- Deep cleanings
- Early orthodontia recommendation
Emergency Services
Chipped or lost teeth, gum damage, lodged food particles. Mouth emergencies happen and we’re here to help repair damage and provide the relief your child needs.
